Saturday. We had an informal get-together in Raleigh the evening before, but here we head out from Raleigh to Bryson City. We took two cars, and the Heaveymobile decided to visit Tenessee rather than heading directly to Bryson City. No matter, they (eventually) made it. We were impressed with the incredible view.
Sunday. We start with a hike to hike to two waterfalls, Toms Branch Falls and Indian Creek Falls. But that is just the beginning. Then we ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. They were hosting their Wizard of Oz voyage and the characters join us before and on the train.
Monday. We hike .4 percent of the Appalachian Trail starting at Clingmans Dome.
Tuesday. We start visiting the Mountain Farm Museum at the Oconaluftee Visitors Center in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We move on to Mingus Mill. Then we drive to Gatlinburg Tennessee for some moonshine.
Wednesday. Rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center.
Thursday. We start at Soco Falls and then lunch in Maggie Valley. We head back and stop at Wheels Through Time, an incredible mortorcycle museum. We desperately try to find Flat Creek Falls but we give it up.
Friday. We start by visiting the American Museum of the House Cat. We take a LaZoom comedy tour of Asheville.
Saturday. We all head back.
