The previous day we had biked through the
Chilkat Eagle Preserve.
A few of us glimpsed an eagle for only a few seconds. On our way to town
we spotted two of them sitting on a rock near the road. We stopped and
they flew to the trees. Gary has some impressive video shots of these with
his 72x zoom. |

This is the
ferry Malaspina. The
ferries are owned by the State of
Alaska, and each is named after a glacier. We took this same
ferry
both from
Haines
to
Juneau,
and the return trip to
Skagway.

This is the Davidson Glacier. It was the most impressive glacier we
saw from a distance on the trip. |
